Accredited Courses

Have you ever had a great idea for a training course but can’t find an existing program that meets your needs? Are you frustrated by seeking a course to fill a skills and knowledge gap and coming up empty? The good news is, anyone can develop a course for accreditation. With TBS Consulting your dream can become a reality. We’ll take your initial idea and develop the training package, assessment tools and learning resources so you can offer your Nationally Recognised Accredited Course.

Your idea can evolve to a single unit or competency or a full qualification from a Certificate II through to a Graduate Diploma. You will own the Intellectual Property (IP). No one else can deliver your course.

TBS Consulting will work with you and your team to:

• Confirm a current, existing course or qualification won’t meet your training outcome
• Guide and manage your industry consultation process:
  • Ensuring sufficient evidence of industry support
  • Demonstrating the need for the course
• Provide advice through the accreditation process, advising what’s required and when:
  • Helping you understand the accreditation process
  • The standards for accredited courses and
  • The requirements of the course accrediting body

What (exactly) is an accredited course? Accreditation is formal confirmation that the course:

• Is nationally recognised
• Meets an established industry, enterprise, educational, legislative or community need
• Provides appropriate competency outcomes and a satisfactory basis for assessment
• Meets national quality assurance requirements
• Is aligned appropriately to the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

Why accredit a course? Why not continue with non-accredited training? Accreditation means a course may be eligible:

• To be listed on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS), meaning the course can be marketed and delivered to overseas students
• For participant/employer financial assistance through various government agencies, or
• To be exempt from GST on courses. There’s no GST on Nationally Recognised Training
• To apply for Austudy, Abstudy and other entitlements
• To achieve an occupational licensing or regulatory outcome.
